At Astoria & Ink Publishing, we publish with purpose. We are drawn to manuscripts that move, challenge, and connect, stories that leave a lasting impact. Each submission is more than just pages; it’s a chance to discover a voice that deserves to be heard.

FICTION

We welcome manuscripts across a wide range of fiction, including:

Literary Fiction
Historical Fiction
Romance
Fantasy
Contemporary
Young Adult
Adventure

Our focus is on works with strong characters, emotional resonance, and authentic voices. Please note we are not currently accepting science fiction,  thrillers,  horror, gore, or other graphic/scary content, poetry and children’s books.

NON-FICTION

We are interested in powerful true stories and thought-provoking works in:

Memoir
Personal Development

We especially seek projects that inspire, challenge, and reflect diverse perspectives. Please note we are not currently accepting health and wellness, social issues, cultural commentary, biographies, history and heritage, as well as educational and teaching books.

FROM STORY TO INK: SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

At Astoria & Ink Publishing, we strive to make the submission process simple and transparent. Please review the following carefully before sending us your work. Due to the high volume of submissions, proposals that do not meet these criteria will not be considered.

Please submit everything as a single Word document (.doc or .docx) with subheadings, formatted in 12‑point Times New Roman, double‑spaced, with standard 1‑inch margins. Save your file using the following format: Lastname_Title.docx (for example: Smith_RisingSun.docx).

 

YOUR PROPOSAL MUST INCLUDE:

  1. Your Legal Name and Pen Name (if applicable)

  2. Title of the Manuscript

  3. Manuscript Category (e.g., Literary Fiction, Fantasy, Memoir, etc.)

  4. Word Count – Total length of your completed manuscript

  5. Synopsis – A concise summary of your book

  6. Comparable Titles – 2 to 3 movies or traditionally published books similar to yours in theme, tone, or audience

  7. Target Audience – Who you see as your ideal readers

  8. Disclosure Statement – A written confirmation that your submission is your own original work

PLEASE INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING MANUSCRIPT SAMPLES:

  • Your first two chapters

  • Your last chapter

  • Your best chapter (if not already included above)

PLEASE NOTE:

  • Please only query us if you have a completed manuscript.

  • We only accept original work.

  • We do not represent original screenplays.

We review every submission with care. Due to the high volume we receive, please allow 8–12 weeks for a response. If your project is a fit, we will contact you to discuss next steps.
